I like having the windows open and being able to hear the neighbors live. I wonder if the reader ever tires of playing solitaire and wishes he could play speed or go fish. I wonder what kinds of books he reads and why he always has the radio and tv on so loud.

Lately

I’ve been almost distastefully lazy and have spent most of my summer days sleeping and summer nights, working. Classes begin again tomorrow and I’m hoping that these coming weeks are more exciting and creative. And in making sure not to sound unappreciative: hanging out in my underwear is awesome thanks to this great weather.

Hello summer, and so we meet again.

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.” —Charles Swindoll

Being on the internet for an extended amount of time can lead to two things:

1. mild depression
2. inspiration

It’s a thin, thin line.

My 3rd year of college/first year at UCLA is roughly 10 hours from being over. How do I feel? Anxious. Let’s get a move on already!

“You have to put up with the risk of being misunderstood if you are going to try to communicate. You have to put up with people projecting their own ideas, attitudes, misunderstanding you. But it’s worth being a public fool if that’s all you can be in order to communicate yourself.” —Edie Sedgwick (via tiffanydenise)

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” —Pablo Neruda | 100 Love Sonnets: Cien sonetos de amor (via raccoonology)

“It seems to me now that the plain state of being human is dramatic enough for anyone; you don’t need to be a heroin addict or a performance poet to experience extremity. You just have to love someone.” —Nick Hornby. (via emptysthemepark)

"There are so many things you can combine in a woman."

But what she is most certainly is a woman and that she must protect feverishly.
